AVATAR
This movie was awesome!
The story, effects, everything…
Very few weak points in it (there are some though)…
I don’t really have to explain the plot much (the commercials do that for you):
Crippled guy, alien body, military vs. native action going on…all that stuff…
This movie has a lot of parallels in it…
It really reminded me of what the settlers of our country did to the native people here when they arrived (taught them English, tried to “educate” them, and basically tried to get them to move so the settlers could get what they wanted)…
It was like a modern day Pocahontas (not really but kind of), but it was more bad-ass…
The way the story progresses is great, the TV ads don’t give away too much, they just give you a general understanding of what will happen, but there are a lot of surprises…
The Na’vi (the native people) were like a combination of various African and Native American tribes…I think through some good research they were able to develop a unique race of “people”. They developed a language, various habits, beliefs, and values and you could tell they put a lot of time into it….I don’t see anybody having any racial issues when it comes to the Na’vi (And don’t try to act like it’s unlikely that someone would have an issue either…there’s always one smh)….
The effects/graphics/digital stuff were well executed! Well done…
A lot of the movie is digital visual effects, and they spent a lot of time on those scenes…
The attention to detail is amazing….
I can see this movie developing into a series of movies…..but I like the idea of it being a “1-of-1”….
Go see it!
